Birmingham MET College

Kidderminster

Our transformation of Birmingham Metropolitan College’s Piano Building showcases the power of adaptive reuse and visionary design. Originally a Grade II listed carpet mill, the building was sensitively converted into a cutting-edge education campus for technology, design, fashion, and hospitality.

The design preserved its industrial heritage while integrating modern materials like glass and steel, creating flexible, contemporary learning spaces. Its curved form, resembling a grand piano from above originated from a 19th-century land dispute, giving the building its name.

The project earned the Kidderminster Civic Society’s award for ‘Landmark with the Most Significant Contribution’, celebrating its impact on the community and built environment.

Coton Meadows Development

Lea Marston

This ambitious project transforms a Victorian farmhouse and its surrounding land into a sustainable residential community. It includes the erection of ten new dwellings, starting with this single storey dwelling. Designed with a focus on heritage, energy performance, and thoughtful integration into the landscape, this build was initially challenged by Green Belt restrictions, however the scheme gained approval through strategic design and proactive engagement with planning officers, demonstrating its

Renewable energy systems and low-impact materials were introduced and the new homes were designed to harmonise with the rural setting, offering privacy, natural light, and A+ EPC ratings across the development.

This project exemplifies how intelligent design can unlock the potential of sensitive sites delivering beautiful, sustainable homes within heritage contexts.

Seacole Social Cafe

London School of Hygeine and Tropical Medicine

We were commissioned to design a new café space for the London School of Tropical Medicine, serving both students and the wider public. The project reimagines a social hub within the historic institution, drawing inspiration from the school’s pioneering legacy in tropical disease research and the architectural character of its early 20th-century heyday.

The design carefully balances heritage and functionality, creating a welcoming environment that reflects the school’s academic gravitas while offering a contemporary café experience. Materials, detailing, and spatial planning were all informed by the building’s original features, ensuring the new space feels both authentic and vibrant. The result is a café that enhances campus life and invites the public into the story of one of London’s most important scientific institutions.

Papworth Hall School

Cambridge

Papworth Hall, Grade II listed building sets the stage for a remarkable transformation – converting it into a SEND School. Our team faced the challenge of creating a vibrant and modern environment whilst preserving the building’s architectural and historic character. Additionally, compliance with statutory requirements such as fire safety and Ofsted standards, required solutions that went far beyond aesthetics. Our work involved detailed engineering assessments and the improvement of fire safety precautions, all meticulously designed to protect both the building’s occupants and its historic features. This holistic approach ensured that the school not only meets modern regulatory demands but also continues to celebrate its storied past.

Papworth Hall now stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design.

Lovelace Avenue

Solihull

Our work with Hampton Homes Group on the prestigious Lovelace Avenue development in Solihull demonstrates our expertise in delivering high-end residential design. Creating a striking new residence while preserving the natural beauty and ecological value of its surroundings was a challenge. Through close collaboration with arboriculture specialists, we carefully positioned the building to minimise its impact on the existing trees, ensuring their continued health and prominence.

The architecture blends contemporary elegance with the natural surroundings, using expansive glazing to create light-filled interiors while respecting the canopy’s shade. Our consultancy extended beyond the building envelope, enhancing privacy, value, and ecological integrity.

The result is a striking home that celebrates its setting, boasting quality, sustainability, and thoughtful design.

Hagen, Canary Wharf YY Building

Canary Wharf, London

Our recent work with Hagen, reflects our commitment to delivering commercially successful, design-led hospitality spaces. Working from an empty shell, we oversaw the complete fit-out of this premium coffee destination, ensuring every detail aligned with Hagen’s brand identity and operational goals. Inspired by the legendary Danish architect Arne Jacobsen, the design pays homage to Hagen’s Scandinavian roots, combining clean lines, refined materials, and a minimalist aesthetic to create a space that is both welcoming and distinctive.

Beyond design, our role extended to strategic landlord liaison, securing lease terms that provided our client with a strong foundation for long-term success. This proactive approach ensured the site’s commercial viability and positions Hagen for continued growth.

Bankside College

Malvern

Set in the heart of the Malvern Hills, our project house an environment for vocational development, supporting young SEND students as they build skills in catering, IT, and essential life skills.

The project’s demanded a design that balanced cost efficiency with a strong sense of place in the rural location. We employed robust, sustainable materials and energy-efficient systems, ensuring the building’s long-term viability without compromising on quality or comfort. The architecture harmonises with the rolling landscape, using natural tones and forms that echo the Malvern Hills. Expansive glazing frames dramatic views, bringing the outside in and creating light-filled spaces for learning and social interaction. This new college stands as a beacon for practical education, delivering opportunity, inspiration, and a deep connection to its unique setting.

The Workshop

Lamledge School

Commissioned to transform a storage building into a vocational education centre for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), our goal was to create an inspiring, real-world learning environment that builds confidence and practical skills.

The design focused on authenticity and adaptability, with professional-grade spaces including:

  • Construction Skills.
  • Media & Music
  • Textile & Fashion Design.
  • Catering & Hospitality
  • Hair & Beauty

Close collaboration with the school and contractors ensured the design met both educational and emotional needs, with accessibility and sensory considerations at the forefront. Early-stage planning, feasibility studies, and cost modelling helped deliver the project on time, within budget, and with lasting impact.

Willow Park School

Milton Keynes

This project involved the full-scale redesign of a disused office building into a vibrant, combined (primary and secondary) school, all within a single-storey footprint. The journey began with securing a change of use and navigating planning permissions, a process made more complex by the presence of squatters, which required sensitive and strategic resolution.

Once the site was cleared and permissions in place, we reimagined the internal layout to accommodate both age groups and installed a wraparound sensory garden and Muga, providing space for outdoor education.

The result is a thoughtfully zoned educational space that supports varied learning needs, encourages interaction, and maximises the potential of the original structure, demonstrating how underutilised buildings can be transformed into purposeful, inspiring places for growth and learning.

Napier School

Farnborough

Our client acquired a stunning Victorian building and entrusted us with reimagining it into a SEN nursery and primary school.

A new layout created classrooms and breakout areas, tailored to the needs of young learners. The interior décor, carefully considered; a soft pastel palette was introduced to create a calming yet child friendly atmosphere. Each classroom features a unique “dipped” colour effect, helping children easily identify and navigate to their designated rooms.

The building’s beautiful tall ceilings, while architecturally impressive, presented acoustic challenges. To address this, we sourced acoustic panels in a playful “cloud” design, adding both function and whimsy to the space. The result is a serene, imaginative environment where students feel safe, inspired, and ready to thrive.

The transformation has been met with joy and enthusiasm.

Longdon Park School

Burton on Trent

Warehouses are often functional but uninspiring, practical, yes, but rarely welcoming or comfortable. Transforming a unit on a busy industrial estate into a vibrant educational facility was an exciting venture, driven by a clear understanding of our client’s needs.

With planning permission and change of use secured, we adapted the existing internal structure to include accessible washrooms, a medical facility, and a reception area. A substantial two-storey extension was added to accommodate specialist learning spaces, alongside a commercial kitchen and dining room.

By extending upwards, we preserved a vast open area within the original building, ideal for Design Technology studies. This space was fitted with cutting-edge DT equipment and carefully zoned for hands-on trades such as plastering and bricklaying.

LSHTM Common Room

London

At the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine’s Keppel Street campus, we reimagined public areas to foster a vibrant, interactive academic community. Central to this was the transformation of the refectory into a flexible, welcoming space for dining, informal meetings, and collaboration.

The design emphasised openness, with carefully chosen materials and lighting to create a warm, durable environment. Inspired by tropical landscapes, reflecting the School’s heritage, the redesigned circulation space features natural textures, lush planting, and filtered light, offering a memorable and uplifting experience.

Tower School

Epping

In the heart of Epping, we transformed a former car sales garage into a purpose-built Special Educational Needs school. Our design restored its original character by reconstructing the facing brickwork façade, re-establishing its presence within the conservation area and creating a dignified, welcoming entrance.

Behind the restored frontage, the space was remodelled into an assembly hall and specialist classrooms. The scheme was developed in close collaboration with the client, planners, and heritage consultants to balance historical integrity with modern educational and accessibility standards.

Front-end planning, including feasibility studies, cost plans, and programme development ensured clarity and confidence from the outset. The result is a school rooted in its community, offering a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment for learning and growth.

Coton Meadows, Coton House

Lea Marston

At the heart of Coton Meadows development an exciting opportunity arose to extensively renovate a dated farmhouse and its outbuildings. This dwelling benefitted from a new layout to improve flow and add en-suit bathrooms, bringing this beautiful property up to modern living standards. We carefully chose areas to expose the original brickwork and incorporated oak features, successfully blending contemporary style with warm, farmhouse charm. Additionally, we transformed the outhouse, which had previously served as stables and then dog kennels, into a fully self-contained one-bedroom annex.

Our proudest element of this project is earning an EPC Rating A+. Comprising of solar panels and air source heat pumps, this is a thoughtfully designed home offering exceptional space, eco friendly living and stylish accommodation.

Bankside School

Malvern

Bankside School marked our second renovation on the site of a former care home. This project focused on converting the main building, outbuildings and former chapel into tailored educational environments for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The outbuildings were reimagined into vibrant, functional learning spaces, designed to support a range of educational activities while maintaining a calm and inclusive atmosphere. Meanwhile, the old chapel, rich with architectural character was sensitively adapted into a sports hall/assembly space, preserving its historical essence while meeting modern accessibility requirements.

This transformation reflects our ethos: creating spaces that serve communities, honour their pasts, and support their futures.

Brookthorpe Hall School

Gloucester

This project transformed a disused elderly care home into a vibrant, inclusive school that honours the building’s architectural heritage. Located in a historically rich area, the design retained traditional facades and pitched roofs, with sensitive restoration of brickwork, rooflines, and internal features like timber panelling and decorative cornices to create a warm, familiar environment.

The external grounds were reimagined to support learning and wellbeing, including:

  • Multi-use play and sports areas
  • Sensory gardens and quiet zones
  • Accessible pathways and drop-off points

Front-end planning was key, with detailed feasibility studies, cost plans, and programme development ensuring clarity and collaboration from the outset. The result is a school rooted in its setting, where heritage and progress meet to support inclusive, aspirational learning.

Hagen, Brook Street

London

Our first Hagen Espresso Bar project, was an exciting venture as we were to create a space that echoed the unique character of its location while remaining unmistakably Hagen.

We took an inventive approach with the design, retaining and celebrating existing architectural and interior features giving the site a distinct personality. These were carefully complemented with signature Hagen brand elements, ensuring the space felt authentic to its surroundings while reinforcing the brand’s visual and experiential identity.

The result is a refined, characterful espresso bar that feels rooted in Bond Street’s energy and elegance, yet clearly part of Hagen’s growing portfolio. Our focus was not only on design excellence but also on commercial success, supporting our client’s long-term growth and positioning Hagen as a standout destination in London’s competitive coffee scene.

Hagen, Borough Yards

London

Following the success of our first Hagen Espresso Bar in Bond Street, our second site in Borough Yards presented an opportunity to evolve the brand’s presence while staying true to its core identity. Set within a vibrant and architecturally rich part of London, the design approach embraced the character of the location—resulting in a space that feels both timeless and distinctly Hagen.

While the aesthetic differs from Bond Street, the philosophy remained the same: to translate Hagen’s brand personality into a physical environment that resonates with its surroundings. We retained existing architectural features, layering them with signature brand elements to create a seamless blend of old and new. The result is a refined, welcoming space that reflects the energy of Borough Yards while reinforcing Hagen’s commitment to quality and design.

Hagen, Richmond & St.Johns Wood

London

Building on the success of Hagen’s Bond Street and Borough Yards sites, our work on Richmond and St John’s Wood reflects a refined approach, balancing brand consistency with local character and commercial impact.

Each site was designed to express Hagen’s identity while responding to its context, with efficient delivery and strategic design choices that maximised visual and operational value. Our collaborative process enabled both locations to be completed in just three weeks, accelerating time to market and return on investment.

These projects mark the next chapter in Hagen’s expansion, spaces that support both brand and business through thoughtful, high-impact design.

Options Trent Acres Vocational Facility

Cannock

Set on the edge of an industrial estate we were tasked with converting a warehouse into a vibrant vocational learning centre for students with Special Educational Needs. The brief focused on creating practical, real-world environments that support skill development and independence.

Central to the design is a fully equipped catering kitchen and café, where students prepare and serve food to the public, gaining valuable experience in hospitality and customer service. We have loved creating spaces this space and hope that it empowers learners and connects education with everyday life.

Riverview School

Newbury

We were appointed to transform a disused office building in Newbury into a fully functioning school, with a brief that prioritised both cost-efficiency and ecological responsibility. The existing structure was retained, minimising waste and reducing the carbon footprint of the build, an approach that aligned with the client’s sustainability goals.

Our redesign focused on maximising the potential of the existing footprint while delivering the required number of classrooms and specialist spaces. A standout feature of the project is the newly installed Design & Technology room, equipped with high-tech

The result is a vibrant, future-ready educational environment that was presented to Ofsted the day after hand over, passing with flying colours.

Omniya Clinic Expansion

Knightsbridge, London

Located in the prestigious heart of Knightsbridge, Omniya Clinic is known for its commitment to cutting-edge wellness and aesthetic treatments. Our brief was to expand and restyle the clinic to support its growing service offering, while enhancing the patient experience and reinforcing the brand’s premium identity.

The project involved the strategic reconfiguration of the existing premises, including the design and delivery of a new basement-level minor surgery suite. This facility was carefully planned to meet clinical standards while maintaining the calm, refined atmosphere that defines the Omniya experience.

At street level, the clinic’s treatment rooms and retail space were extended and restyled to improve flow, visibility, and customer engagement. The design blends contemporary finishes with subtle luxury, creating a welcoming and professional environment for both returning clients and new visitors.
