Space M Studio was proud to contribute to the design of a high-spec residential build on the prestigious Lovelace Avenue, a private road renowned for its exclusivity and architectural excellence.
Our involvement focused solely on the design phase, but the project presented a unique set of challenges. The client envisioned a large, luxurious home on a modestly sized plot, all while preserving the character of the local area and working within strict environmental constraints. One of the most significant was the presence of mature, protected trees—none of which could be removed.
Through careful planning and creative spatial solutions, we developed a design that maximised internal space while respecting the natural surroundings. After extensive consultations with the local planning authority, permission was granted for a striking three-storey home featuring 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 reception rooms, A large open-plan living kitchen area.
To protect the surrounding woodland, the build required 10-metre-deep piled foundations, ensuring tree roots remained undisturbed. We also introduced an innovative guttering system with minimal outlets to prevent leaf blockage and maintain the clean architectural lines.
The exterior was clad in Anthra-Zinc, the world’s first pre-weathered black zinc, offering both durability and a sleek, modern aesthetic. The gable ends were finished in Siberian Larch, a dense, rot-resistant timber ideal for exposed elevations, providing a maintenance-free, long-lasting façade.
The project was brought to life on-site by The Hampton Group, and the completed home has since been featured on Grand Designs—a testament to the ambition, quality, and innovation behind the build.
We’re thrilled to have played a part in this exceptional project and proud to see our design work celebrated on such a prestigious platform.
